Scraptacular Page Design Class

Every month Scraptacular, my lss, holds page design classes. Beth always puts together fun & easy pages, & sometimes challenges us w/ new techniques. Last month I was not able to attend the class, but I did get the kit. The class consists of 2 - double page los, & 2 - single page los. Of course, you don't have to keep the page exactly as she has designed, but it is always a quick way to add to your albums!!

Here are 2 of the los that were in the kit. (the other 2 do not have pics on them yet, & I wanted to sew on them to add a "me" touch).

Both pages are of the girls 2 years ago in the snow, of course.

It seems that my pics came out blurry again! It must be the camera & not the photographer ;o)~

Angels Among Us

Another lo that I did for TES online crop.  I also posted it at the Crop Stop for use of my cricut/die cuts (the frame & the circles). The challenge was to cut out your picture & add something to it.  Ex: wings, crown, etc.  Well this was the perfect picture to alter!  It is of Emma at her 3rd birthday party, which was a Cinderella theme.  She wore a feather crown all day, & I got this pic which was perfect for this challenge.

I cut the frame from my cricut, as well as the circles.  I cut out around Emma’s head & crown, & popped her out of the frame.  Then I added feathers to the crown to simulate what she was actually wearing in the picture.   I LOVE the way this lo turned out!  It was hard to adhere the feathers, but this lo just makes me smile.  Look at that face!

Thanks for looking & hope you stop back again soon.

At the Everyday Scrapper online crop this past week, one of the challenges was to make a lo with flowers that you have made yourself. There are so many techniques, & ideas out there, & so many different ways to make your own flowers, it was hard for me to chose what I was going to do. I kind of remember seeing these somewhere, but am not sure where, or even if I did it correctly, but I had this roll of fabric that was about 2 inches wide. Not quite a ribbon, but too small to do anything else with. So I just started twisting & twisting & twisting until I came up with:

100_8311 100_8315

I think that this lo is now up there on my faves list. Just look at Emma’s face. (this pic was at O.C. Md. in 2008).

The crop at TES is now over. It was awesome! I did every single challenge! & had 30 minutes to spare too! It totally helps when dh watches the girls all day, while Mommy plays in her scrap room. Those days don't happen very often, but I sure appreciate it when they do!! I will post my creations as time allows.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Spring Banner

Happy weekend! This past week has been a spectacular online crop at The Everyday Scrapper. There are 13 challenges, 5 games, lots of prizes, & lots of talent! If you haven’t joined in yet, head on over. You still have time to participate. You have until 12am est tonight to upload your creations to be entered into the great RAKs that the DT is offering. Don’t wait…..run on over there now!

One of the challenges was to create a spring banner. Well, I have never done this before, so this certainly was a challenge to me. When I was guest designer for From Here to Scrapternity, one of the things that I received was a little wooden mini album. I had looked at it and wondered what I was going to do with it. Well, I now had the perfect chance to use it:

(now that I see my pics on my blog, they are not very clear. I will see if I can get better pics to post, but in the mean time, enjoy these. sorry about that!!)

I dipped into my scrap paper, I used stickers that I had forgotten I had, & pop dotted them to make them stand up & adhered the eggs to some chipboard, used ribbon from Crop Stop, & stickles (of course!!), & then hung on twine.

I am really pleased with the way that it turned out! I am wondering where I can get more of these little albums to make some as Easter gifts for our parents!

Anyway, thanks for looking, & please stop on by TES crop today to join in on the fun!!!

Crop Stop Weekly Challenge

Over at Crop Stop, I posted the weekly challenge. Please check out their blog & then post your creations on the forum.

The challenge is to make a mini book for someone special.

I did one for my daughters preschool teacher. It was announced last week that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I read the note, I stood there & cried, & I immediately thought, "What can I do for her?" I decided to use the journaling boxes on the back of a Fancy Pants 12x12 sheet. I cut them up, scanned the class picture & cropped each child & made individual small photos, added some bible verses & words of encouragement, & then embellished. I bound the pages with eyelets & a ring, added some ribbon, & had a small little book to give her.

If you decide to create a mini album, please post over at the Crop Stop forum. I can't wait to see what you create!

(This project was originally created for an online crop at From Here to Scrapternity.)

Back in Action!

Hi there! I have been out of commission for quite some time now, due to our laptop crashing! I have only been able to post what was needed of me, & not much else. So, today, my new laptop arrived at our front door & I am in Laptop Heaven! I have been putzing around with it for hours. Well, I was working a little tonight, but I stole it to bring up with me to play around with in between calls. So, hopefully I will now be able to post more often & get back into my grove!
With that being said, let me show off a few of my creations from the past month (I looked over my blog & I missed a lot of stuff I've done). I won't go overboard tonight, but will try to post more often.

This was at the pool last summer, & it was the first day that Audra went pee-pee on the potty outside of the house. I told her that if she went she could have some ice cream, & she went! I have since journaled on this lo under the arrow in blue to tell that story. Looking at this picture, I can't wait for summer & spending the day at the pool w/ the girls!

This lo was created for a challenge at February's crop at From Here 2 Scrapternity. I also used it for a challenge at Scraptacular.

This is of my girls on the first day of school in '09. Emma in the 4 year old program at preschool, & Audra in Mommy & Me. They were so excited, & but this was just such a cute pic I couldn't pass it up.

I totally scraplifted this lo! It was an idea in a kit that I got from Scraptacular in February (which I loved & used almost every single thing in it!!). It's a really cute, fun lo & I love the way the lo turned out. Thanks, Beth, for the fabulous kit!

By the way....there is a fantastic crop going on over at The Everyday Scrapper! The challenges are great, the prizes are even better. There are games & just so much excitement going on over there. I am hosting a challenge & a game, so please go take a look. Have some fun, meet some new people, & enjoy the extraordinary talent! See you there!!!

Have a fabulous day!

Now she is a little girl & heading off to Kindergarten in the fall! AAAaaaahhhh!

The pics are of my oldest daughter at age 18 months (she is now almost 5), & she used to love to ride the vacuum. Who knew!!!

You can check out the thread in the Crop Stop forum here. And please be sure to share your "circle punch" layouts, cards, projects etc, so that we can oooh & aahh over them! You can also view my post on their blog here.

The Crop Stop - A Hop Along Hollywood Boulevard - Blog Hop

We are so close to Oscar time that we decided to do a themed blog hop to present to you our new design team members (THAT'S ME!!!). This blog hop will have 9 stops in total, and in all of those stops, our design team members will be sharing with you a tip or giving you a challenge. There will be prizes drawn from those that submit their entries to the blog hop challenges by midnight Monday, March 8th CST. You NEED to submit your entry for the blog challenge, as a comment, to the design team members blog post. (example: If you are doing Vicki's challenge, then you need to leave Vicki a comment on her blog post with a link to your project). Sign up to "follow" our blogs and you might win a prize. ;o)

Our red carpet order is as follows (if you happened across this post by accident, please be sure to go back & visit the Crop Stop's blog to start, so as not to miss a single thing!!):

1. CropStop
2. Vicki
3. Elisabeth
4. Jessica
5. Gloria
6. Lisa
7. Stacy
8. Anneliese - <<== YOU ARE HERE
9. Dalis'

Now, let's walk down the red carpet & see what I have in store for you today.....

I have decided to go w/ the movie, "The Story of Us". Now, I know that this movie is not necesarily a happy movie, however, my husband, kids & I ARE happy. We adore our kids, & always have fun no matter what we do. & although I may not tell my husband as much I should, he is my rock! I love him, & my girls, with all of my heart & soul. So, this story is about US.

Those of you that know me, & I say this often, know that I LOVE sketches. So, I decided to use this months sketch challenge at Crop Stop for my lo & card below. You can find the thread with the sketches here. Please be sure to check it out, & of course, post your lo should you chose to accept the challenge. Sketches are a great way for inspiration, or just a push to help you get started on a lo if your mojo isn't flowing.

The pictures in the above lo are from Halloween 2009, when we went trick-or-treating in the pouring rain. We didn't go to many houses, but we did wind up sitting on the porch & had so much fun just handing out candy & seeing all the costumes everyone was wearing.

The stem of the flower on this birthday card was made with rhinestones that were in the form of a word. It was a French word, that had been sent to me as a RAK. Since I am not French, & probably would never have used it as that word, I took it apart to form the stem for the flower. (check out the sketch for this card in the Crop Stop forum).

And here is a lo just because. It is a pic of me & my dh from the same Halloween night, so I thought I would share it. We don't have too many pics of the two of us.

Have you heard? The Crop Stop is having an online crop next Saturday, March 13th, from 8am - 4pm est! The Creative Team will have lots of challenges & games ready for you, so be sure to join us! Can't wait to see you there! Check out the details here.

I am also offering a RAK for the hop today! If you become a follower of my blog, & leave me a comment w/ your favorite movie of all times, I will chose a random winner for a RAK from me!

One last thing... would you like a coupon to enjoy a discount on your order of $20 or more. (coupon code: OSCAR) expires March 10th. Happy shopping!!

Now head on over to Dalis' blog, the last stop on this fabulous hop!

Thanks for looking! Enjoy the rest of your day!

The Everyday Scrapper - Fun Day Monday - Scrapping About Yourself

On Monday, I posted on The Everyday Scrapper. You can see my post below, or see it at The Everyday Scrapper.

Here is a question for you… How often to you scrapbook about yourself? I know that I, personally, get so wrapped up in scrapbooking about my girls, & my family, that I rarely ever do anything about me. Well, I am usually the one behind the camera, so I don’t have very many pictures of me anyway. Last week we had my daughters 3rd birthday party, & I handed my camera over to my friend, who captured me in a few photos, so I thought I would take this time to do a page about myself. I am in my last months of my 30s, so I reflected on “who I am”.
I realized that I have changed a bit over the years, in becoming a wife, a mother, a friend, daughter & sister. All rolls that I don’t take lightly, & a long ways away from my corporate days!

So, do you scrap about yourself? If so, please share with us in the forum a layout, or project that you have done about yourself.

Thanks for looking! Have a fabulous week!
