Nuts About Sketches #282

Hello!  A day late, but here is my creation for the new sketch at Nuts About Sketches
It's all Fancy Pants paper that I had in my stash.  I had cut a large circle & misted it with Glimmer Mist.  All the flowers are fussy cut from the Fancy Pants paper, & embellished with Dew Drops.  I used Thickers for the letters & added a little twine on the brackets.
The pictures are of Emma goofing around on laundry day one day.  She thought it would be funny to sit in her hamper, but once in there, she couldn't get out & was getting really mad.
Thanks for looking today! I am going to Hideaway Hills scrapbooking retreat this coming weekend, so I am gonna get my craft on!  I hope to get a lot done, so stay tuned in the weeks to come see what I've created. Have a great week!!

Nuts About Sketches #280 & 281

Well hello there!  Happy Labor Day!  I hope that you are enjoying your mini vacation after the first week of school.  I know our first week of school was exciting, & crazy at the same time.  Both girls love their teachers, & love the kids in their class. It is going to be a great year!

With the craziness of the summer behind me, I think that I will be able to get on a regular blog schedule again.  No kids pulling me in every which direction while trying to get them scheduled.

Last week was the last week of the old DT at Nuts About Sketches, & this week the new DT started their designs.  It has been a pleasure working with everyone that will no longer be remaining on the team.  I really enjoyed your work each week.  Congrats to the new team!  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.  That is what I love about sketches.  It is one sketch & every one that uses it as inspiration will come up with something different.

With that being said, here is what I created with last weeks sketch, #280:

These pics are from just some random day, January 2009.  We were having lunch & they both starting being super silly & so I got the camera out & started snapping pictures.  Funny things is that I remember it like it was yesterday!

And sketch #281:

My lil Audra!  This was her 4th b-day party at Ozzy's in PA.  It was such a fun party.  Climbing, bouncing, eating pizza & cupcakes.  These pics are when we were singing happy birthday to her (of course).

Thank you for stopping by again today.  I hope that you have enjoyed my creations.  Again, if you want to see anything specific, or want more details on how or why I did what I did, or if you want to know supplies, please let me know.  I would be happy to oblige.

Have a fantastic week!!!

Red Carpet Studios - Anything Goes Challenge

Hello!  Have you survived the Red Carpet Studios blog hop?  That was pretty incredible, wasn't it?  There was so much inspiration, & fun projects.  But the fun isn't over yet.  Be sure to keep checking back on the RCS facebook  page for more fun & games & prizes.
Today a new challenge has been posted at RCS & it is an Anything Goes challenge.  It is based on the movie Anything Else, hence the anything goes challenge.  :)
The sponsor is The Robin's Nest and one lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive a fall paper grouping prize pack! Don't forget, the team will also be choosing their 3 favorite projects be featured in the "Spotlight!"  So be sure to head over to the RCS blog & link up your projects.  I can't wait to see what you have created.

Here is what I have created for this weeks challenge:

Honestly, I think this might be my favorite card that I've made so far!  The image is from one of our sponsor's for the blog hop, Kenny K's Digis & I colored it using my Tombow markers. I just used scraps of paper from a card class that took at Archiver's this week, & I hand cut stars, used pop dots to raise the saying, some of the stars, & the image, then I embellished w/ some twine & gems.   Voila!  I fun card!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that I was able to give you some inspiration.  Any comments, suggestions, ideas on how to make my blog better, I would totally love to hear!  Have a fabulous rest of your labor day!!

Red Carpet Studio ~ Movie Night Blog Hop

Welcome to Red Carpet Studio's One Year Anniversary Celebration!! We're starting the party off right with a blog hop, but don't forget we also have games and prizes going on in our Facebook event group

This weekend our design team is sharing with you inspiring projects for movie nights! Invitations, decorations, and more, you'll leave the hop wanting to have a movie night of your very own.

If you've come from Tonya's blog, you're in the right place! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, please visit Red Carpet Studio.
Congratuations to all the new design team members!  I am so excited to get to work with you & I can't wait to see what you create!  I am sure your work will be nothing less than stellar!!  Congratulations again!!!

Here is what I made for the hop:
I really thought & thought & thought about what I would make for this hop.  It had to be some thing different, & something that I don't normally do.  So, when I was cleaning out a cabinet the other day, I came across an old mason jar & turned it into a ticket holder.
First I added washi tape around the center.  Then I decorated with an entire pack of Paper House 3D stickers, movie themed of course.  I then colored the George Clooney image from one of our wonderful sponsors, Kenny K Digi!

I added mulberry paper to the top, & wet the edges to give a fringed look, then cut a hole in the top for tickets. The girls have a collection of tickets in the house & graciously let me use them for the pictures!  Thanks Emma & Audra!  They want to use this jar for our next movie night!  I can't wait!

This weekend (and our challenges) wouldn't be anything without our fabulous sponsors! Those who comment on every stop of the hop are eligible to win these wonderful prizes:

Disney Classics Cricut Cartridge

12x12 Disney Specialty Paper

"That's Entertainment" Stamp Set

$20 Gift Certificate

Besties of Oz Collection - 7 Digital Stamps

Insta-Live, Love, Dream Stamp Set

And now for the part you've been waiting for... everyone who hops receives a FREE digital goodie bag! Yup, you heard that right! The contents of our goodie bag can be viewed HERE on our Facebook page. Just be sure to leave your email address when you hop and we'll have it emailed to you by the end of the weekend. :)

Winners of the sponsored prizes will be announced at Red Carpet Studio on Tuesday September 3rd.

Red Carpet Studios - We Bought a Zoo

Happy Sunday!  The first day of school eve for our household.  The girls are nervous, yet excited, & all is a-buzz with what they will wear & who they will see.  Summer has officially come to an end.
With that I bring you the latest card challenge from Red Carpet Studios.  This week, August 25th - 31st, the challenge is based on the movie "We Bought a Zoo".  What we would like you to do is create a card with an animal on it.  Easy-peasy right?  Our sponsor this week is Inky Impressions, & one lucky winner will get a $10 Gift Certificate for their store.  Be sure to link up your creation by the 31st to be eligible for the prize, & remember, the creation must be posted to your blog in the same week as the challenge.

Here is my card for this weeks challenge:

I know I've posted before that I am trying to get my Christmas cards done, so a reindeer is an animal right.  I embossed the deer & sentiment to make it stand out more, & I don't know if you can see, but I've added a red gem to the deers noses.  I really like the way this card turned out.  I will be making more of these for sure.
While you are here I wanted to mention that Red Carpet Studios is coming up on its one year anniversary.  With that being said, I want to tell you about our upcoming event!
All weekend long we'll be hosting games, giving away prizes, introducing our new design team members, and kicking off a new spin on our challenges! You won't want to miss it! The best part? Everyone who participates in our blog hop will receive a free GOODIE BAG filled with coupons, digital stamps, SVG files, and more! Keep an eye out for our Facebook event for more details. :)

I totally missed posting the School of Rock challenge several weeks back, but here is the card that I created for it.  I do believe that Audra's teacher will be getting this card in a few days.  ;)

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope that you enjoyed everything here.  There is lots to take in.  RCS will be changing up their format in the months to come, so stay tuned for info on that.
Have a fabulous rest of your weekend & enjoy the peacefulness of back to school!!!

Nuts About Sketches #277, 278, & 279

Happy last weekday before school starts!  Today is Friday & it was the last day of sleeping in, hanging in our PJs until we feel like getting dressed, & doing whatever we feel like when we want.  Monday starts school here in Katy, TX, & that means early rising, & getting back to a daily routine.  It is bitter sweet.  But, with that being said, maybe I can blog better.  Have some time to sit down & schedule them in a timely manner instead of whenever I have a second to myself. :o)  I am certainly not complaining!
Here are the last 3 weeks worth of Nuts About Sketches designs.  And it was also announced that I will be on the DT for another term!  Yay!!!  I love doing her sketches, they are so much fun, plus it guarantees that I will get 4 layouts done a month.  It will be my last term with her, as she has opted to get all new fresh blood on her team starting in March.  Congrats to all who have made the team for this term!!
Sketch #277
The picture came out a little blan, but the colors are much more bright than the picture captured. Tony has joined the YMCA & does the Guides & Princesses camping trips each month with the girls.  Just the dads & kids.  Prior to the first trip, he set up the tent in the backyard & had a camp out as a trial run. The kids loved it, & it was the start of wonderful camping fun!
Sketch #278
Since moving to TX I have reconnected with my 1st cousins.  Tina lives here in TX & her brother, Joseph, lives in Destin, FL.  Last year Joseph & his family invited us for Thanksgiving, & of course we went. My parents drove down from PA to meet us there also.  His wife, Amber, got us a room at a wonderful condo resort, right on the beach.  So, in November, we were playing in the white sand of Destin, FL.  It was wonderful to get to know family better, & see my parents too. Awesome Thanksgiving!!!
Sketch #279

Ahhh!!  Tony & I on our cruise in 2011 for our 10 year anniversary.  It is funny to see these pics, as I have lost weight since then.  It was such a fun time. We need to go on another vacation, just the 2 of us.  Not sure when that will happen!!!  lol.
Thank you for looking today.  I know I've missed several weeks & hopefully will be back on track soon.  Enjoy the final weekend of summer!

Nuts About Sketches 275 and 276

Hello.  What is new & exciting with you?  I hope that you are enjoying what is left of this summer.  I know we only have a few weeks left, & then it is back to a schedule/routine of school, work, & everything else in between.
I, again, am late in getting these layouts posted, but that is just an indication of how awesome our summer is going.  Full of things to do & places to see!  In the midst of it, my parents were here for a visit as well.  So much fun!!
Here are my 2 layouts for Nuts About Sketches.  Starting with #275

These are pics of my girls hanging out in my dad's boat & just goofing around.  I gave him this layout to put in his ongoing album.
& #276
This pictures make me giggle every time I see them!  This is a typical Emma moment when she was just over a year old. Happy, & loving to be naked.
Thank you for looking today.  I hope you aren't too thrown off by my posting days.  I hope to be back on track soon, & posting normally again soon.  (about 3-4 weeks maybe?).
Have a great day!!

Red Carpet Studio - The Hangover Challenge

Hello there!  I am a few days late in posting this, but better late than never.  The newest challenge was posted at Red Carpet Studio on Sunday.  Honestly, this is a such a fun challenge!  I loved creating the card this week!  You'll see why below!
Inspired by "The Hangover," this week RCS is challenging you to create a card featuring a drink/cocktail!

The challenge runs from July 28th - August 3rd, so be sure to head over to RCS & link up your creation.
The sponsor this week is Squigglefly! One lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive 3 digital stamps of their choice!  & let me tell you, there are some awesome stamps to chose from!!
Here is the card that I created for the challenge!  I used digital images from Squigglefly.  How fun is this image? lol.
& this is the inside of the card:
I now need to figure out the perfect person to send this card to.

Thank you for looking today!  I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I enjoyed creating it.  Please stop back in a day or so, I have some catching up to do for Nuts About Sketches as well.

Have a great day!!!

Red Carpet Studio Christmas in July Blog Hop

Just because there's not snow on the ground, doesn't mean Christmas can't be celebrated a few months early! Happy Christmas in July, everyone, and welcome to Red Carpet Studio's Christmas in July blog hop!

If you're unfamiliar with Red Carpet Studio, we're a challenge blog that challenges crafters to create projects inspired by movies! Right now we offer alternating weekly card and layout challenges, but starting in September we'll be opening up our challenges to any types of projects that fit our theme, as well as extending the duration of the challenges to biweekly to give you awesome crafters more time to create and play along! We're also having a design team call!

Now onto my project..

I recently bought a kit at Archiver's, & I have been busy making my Christmas cards.  Of course I've added my own personal touches & tweeks, but here is what I have created so far:

My favorite Christmas movie of all times is A Christmas Story.  It has become a tradtion to watch it every Christmas eve.  TBS runs it all night long.  We will start watching it early evening on Chrtistmas eve, & every year, with out fail, the next morning when we get up the movie will be at the same place as when we left off the night before.  Classic movie, & so much fun!!
And of course we have some wonderful sponsors giving away gifts to those who are a follower of Red Carpet Studio (either through Google Reader or Blog Lovin') and comment on EVERY stop of the hop!

I do believe that you have come the end of your hop!  I hope that you had a wonderful time browsing & we hop that you play along at the RCS weekly!!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Nuts About Sketches #274

Good morning!
With everything that is going on this summer, I totally missed last weeks sketch.  I normally have all my layouts done months in advance, but with the summer here, & all the activities we have been doing, I haven't been getting them done until the very last minute.  (Sorry Shawn!!).  Now, this week, I had it done in plenty of time, but didn't get my blog post scheduled!  I am hoping for a regular schedule soon!  ;o)
In any case, here is the layout that I created using Shawn's latest & greatest sketch at Nuts About Sketches!  Love it!!

I used scraps from a very old kit, & the pictures are of Emma & her oldest friend, Jack.  Look at how little they are!  Emma is 11 months old here, & Jack is 10.  Now they are both entering 3rd grade!  Boy how time flies.  Since moving to TX, we don't get to see or talk to them often, but Emma does talk about him almost every day, so he has definitely not been forgotten!  We miss them so much!!
Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you like what I have created.  Please stop back in the next day or so to find out some details on the Red Carpet Studio blog hop coming up this weekend!
Have a great day!

Red Carpet Studios Action Movies Challenge

With how crazy busy we have been this summer, I am a little late in posting this, but better late than never, right?  Yesterday a new challenge was posted at Red Carpet Studios & is a great one!!

Inspired by the all the wonderful action movies out there, this week the Red Carpet Studio is having an "action" challenge by asking you to use Action Wobbles on your cards!

The fabulous sponsor this week is Treasure Box Designs! One lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to their store!

I figured with Christmas just 5 months away, I should start in on my cards!  What a better way than to start out wobbly!  I made this card using some paper from a daily scrapbooking calendar that I picked up at a dollar store!!  I fussy cut the gingerbread men, wobbled the middle one, added some doodles, ribbon, & a bling brad, layered them all together, & viola!!

Since I posted this one late, please stop by tomorrow for my "late" Nuts About Sketches post. Oops!
Have a great day & see you soon!!

Nuts About Sketches #272

Happy Monday!  & Happy 1st day of July!  This summer is flying on by, that's for sure, but I must say, that today, is the first day of the summer that we do not have a single thing planned.  I am not sure what I am going to do with myself.
Today a new sketch is posted at Nuts About Sketches.  It is a double page layout, & another great one!  This is what I created with it:

I made a layout of the girls with my father on Easter in 2010.  They look so small here!  They were out back at my parents house & they were just goofing around with Paw-paw & having a great time!  They love their Paw-paw!  Speaking of which, Paw-paw, act surprised when you get this page, it is for you to add to your album, (for father's day).  You will get it when you arrive in a few weeks.
Thanks for looking today!  I hope that you have a fabulous July 4th weekend!!

Red Carpet Studios - Anything Goes: 3D Project

Good morning.  What are you up to today?  Are you having a good weekend.  This weekend it was in excess of 105 degrees here in TX.  I am so not used to this heat.  Thank goodness we have A/C & that we live a block away from the pool.  Now, what would be better is if we had a pool in our backyard, but not yet.  One of these years....

Today at Red Carpet Studios, a new challenge is posted.  This is a good one!  Anything goes!  Both the card & the layout teams came together for this one, & boy you should see some of the creations.  Be sure to head over there for some great inspiration!

The challenge runs from June 30th to July 6th, & is based on 3D Movies, & is exactly as I said, Anything Goes!  Our sponsor is The Paper Parade, & once you link your project, one lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate for their store!  What an awesome prize!!

The inspiration behind the project that I chose to do, came from Kid Serve (VBS) from church last week. I was in charge of the crafts for the kids, & what we did was make centerpieces for the tables at a local nursing home.  We used mason jars as the base, filled them with Mardi Gras beads, & made stars & little red firework like things to stick in like flowers.

I spun my "centerpiece" in a different direction & used a round vase, filled with red, white, & blue Mardi Gras beads, wrapped a ribbon around the top, then made the roses with red, white, & blue paper & adhered them to each end of a pipe cleaner.  Then I folded the pipe cleaners in half & arranged my flowers as you see.  Viola!

A little time consuming, but at least I could sit & roll the flowers w/ the kids.  They didn't want to help so much, but they surely wanted the finished flowers.
I hope that you liked my project today.  Don't forget to head over to RCS to enter for your chance to win.  Please stopped back & see me again soon!!

Nuts About Sketches #270 & #271

Good morning!
Since the kids are out of school, I have not been on any kind of schedule, & everything is all off kilter for me.  I am so used to having my blog posts scheduled a month or so in advance, & unfortunately, that hasn't been happening. I am so sorry!  I am playing catch up with last week & this weeks sketches from Nuts About Sketches.
A wonderful double page layout!
I just loved working with this sketch.  It was so much fun, & you could do so much with it.  I just loved these pictures that I used too.  We had these doll high chairs, & the girls would sit in them & play beauty salon.  It was so cute!  I don't think that their big toe would fit in them now!

Oh my gosh!  The days of the Cozy Coupe Car!  She loved this car, & would spend hours upon hours in it! She would ride in it by herself, or with whatever toy she had with her at the moment.  She especially loved taking her dolls & playing "mommy".  But her all time favorite thing, was when her sister would push her as fast as she could!
Thank you for looking today!

Red Carpet Studios - Going Digital

Well, hello there!!  Happy Sunday!  We are in the second to last week of June.  I cannot believe that!  Swim team has been keeping us busy every single day, & it has finally come to an end. The girls did outstanding for their first year, & I look forward to another season next year.  We also had KidServe at church (The Commons UMC) this past week, our version of VBS.  We made Bags of Grace for the homeless, which my husband had the opportunity to hand to someone in need, we made blankets for the kids at Texas Children's Hospital, & made disaster relief bags.  We also made centerpieces for a nursing home, & at the same nursing home, the kids sang some songs for them.  It was a very moving, eventful week, & the best part is that the children understood it!  At least mine did!  It is amazing to see God work in their lives.

Enough about that!  I have a new crafty thing to share with you today!  At Red Carpet Studios a new challenge was posted today.  I meant to have this posted earlier today, but we have been so busy, & I am so out of whack, that the post didn't get posted until late.  Better late than never, right?!

This week, June 23rd - June 29th, the challenge is "Going Digital".  Use any digital stamp on your card!  That is easy enough, right?

The sponsor of the challenge this weeks is:  The Paper Nest Dolls

The prize will be 3 Copics, 5 Copics if winner uses a Paper Nest Dolls image.  (She posts freebies every now & again, so check to see if there are any now....which I do believer there are).  :o)

I got to have my pick this week, & I chose this lil cutie!  It reminded me of my Emma, which is why I picked it.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope to have you stop by again soon.  Be sure to head over to RCS to link up your digital image card for your chance at some Copics!!  Have a fabulous day!!

Nuts About Sketches #268 & #269

Happy Monday!  Happy first day of the week.  This is our first Monday with no school, for the summer break.   We are spending the morning at swim practice, then something fun for the rest of the day, I'm sure.
With everything going on at the end of the school year, I forgot to schedule my post for last Monday, so here are both of my designs for Nuts About Sketches #268 & #269.
I kind of like posting these together becuase the cupcake layout is of Emma when she was almost 1, & the below layout is of Emma when she was 6. It is fun to look at pictures & compare what they looked like & what they have become.  Now what would be really cool, if I had another layout to post of her today (age 8).

Thank you for looking today.  I hope that you swing by Nuts About Sketches to check out the actual sketches & maybe create something yourself.  Have a wonderful week!  Hope to see you soon.

Red Carpet Studios - Graduation

Hi there & happy Sunday! The first Sunday of summer. Wednesday was the last day of school for the girls & we have a busy summer planned.  Lots of library time, swim team, VBS, camps.  It should be a lot of fun!
Today is a new challenge at Red Carpet Studio, & in honor of the graduating class of 2013, of course, the challenge is based on the movie "The Graduate".  It will run from June 9th - June 15th, & you must create a graduation card.  Once complete, please link it up over at Red Carpet Studio for a chance to win a prize from the wonderful sponsor this week QKR Stampede:
The prize will be 5 digis of winner's choice. Awesome!!
I don't know any graduates this year, so I went kind of generic with my card.  I made a "congrats" card, which of course we would congratulate a graduate, right?  Anyway, here is my creation:

I embossed off white card stock, inked it to make the design pop, secured it on craft card stock, then embellished with a stick pin, ribbon, butterflies & epoxy stickers.
Thank you for stopping by today.  I kind of missed my post for NAS last Monday so both will be posted tomorrow.  Ooops!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
