Don't Fall Over!!!

Please do not fall over, or think that you have misread something.  Yes, it is I!  It has been one year since my last post.  I pulled up my blog today to take a peak & I had, no lie, 20+ blog posts scheduled from the past year.  Schedule from September of last year, through February of this year.  Not one of them got posted!!  Can you believe that?  I am not sure what happened, but I obviously wasn't paying attention, now was I?

A lot has happened over the past year.  The company that Tony was with, that moved us to Texas, he no longer works for.  He was very unhappy in that position, & out of the blue a head hunter contacted him with a bigger better opportunity.  He has been in the new position, Safety Director, with AirGas since November of 2013. He seems to like it, & I now recognize the man who walks in the door each night. :)  My beautiful sister & husband had a baby, so I am an Aunt! Lil Violet was born 2 days before our anniversary (I'll never forget her birthday day), & is doing fantastic!  I have been to PA to see her two times already.  Not enough, in my opinion!  One of the down falls of moving away from home/family!  The girls are very active in a lot of different things.  Gymnastics, swim team, girl scouts, church. They started 2nd & 4th grade this year!  Can you believe that?  Emma is growing up way too fast!  She is becoming quite the independent young lady. She was asked to do safety patrol at school, which she accepted, & she also going to do Read Dead Run, which is a program where you read 26 books, do 26 good deeds, & run 26 miles. She asked to do it!  I didn't even have to sway her!  Yay!  Me, I have been very busy, & my dear hubby has asked me to cut back on my volunteer work this year.  I was homeroom mom for Audra's class, I help in the library every week at school, I am co-chair for box tops for the school, I am in 2 different bible studies, as well as a leader for girl scouts!  That just scratches the service.  Tony said that if I put as much time into working as I do volunteering we would be rich!!  Which brings me to my job.  I have taken a career change. I no longer work in travel, I now do transcription work, mainly for two different companies.  TranscribeMe! & iDictate/Quicktate. I LOVE it!! I have been doing it for a little over a year now, & it is the best job.  I don't have to answer phones any more, no more customer service.  I pick up a "file" to listen to, & type it.  It is relaxing, & I am learning so much on the topics that I type about.  Sermons, lectures, letters, interviews, closed caption.  I must've been doing a good job because I am now QA & on a few special teams for TranscribeMe!

We also had an addition put on the house.  We extended the patio out back, & put in an outdoor kitchen.  I really love being out back now!!  It is awesome.  It is just like an extended living space.  When we did that, we put in a media room as well.  We use it all the time.  It is great for some family fun nights, especially movie nights.

Seriously, we are a very busy family. We have adjusted to life in Texas quite well, & it seems everyone is thriving here.  Yay!

On another note, I have been selected to be on the Design Team for Nuts About Sketches, again!!  I could not be happier.  The first reveal for the new team was today, sketch number 333, & here is what I came up with:

I used Bo Bunny paper, Basic Grey flowers, random ribbon, & Quick Quotes ink. This paper was absolutely perfect for this sketch!!  The girls are 3 & 5 here, & this is our house in PA. They were always being silly, especially when the camera was on them (some things never change).

I am happy to be back. I hope not to fall behind like I did before.  I am going to post the layouts & posts that I had planned, but keep in mind, they are old.  But the layouts may be inspirational.  Who knows.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope to see you back again soon. Who knows, maybe I will get back into scrapping more, & get on some more teams? ;)

Have a fabulous week!!

Nuts About Sketches #282

Hello!  A day late, but here is my creation for the new sketch at Nuts About Sketches
It's all Fancy Pants paper that I had in my stash.  I had cut a large circle & misted it with Glimmer Mist.  All the flowers are fussy cut from the Fancy Pants paper, & embellished with Dew Drops.  I used Thickers for the letters & added a little twine on the brackets.
The pictures are of Emma goofing around on laundry day one day.  She thought it would be funny to sit in her hamper, but once in there, she couldn't get out & was getting really mad.
Thanks for looking today! I am going to Hideaway Hills scrapbooking retreat this coming weekend, so I am gonna get my craft on!  I hope to get a lot done, so stay tuned in the weeks to come see what I've created. Have a great week!!

Nuts About Sketches #280 & 281

Well hello there!  Happy Labor Day!  I hope that you are enjoying your mini vacation after the first week of school.  I know our first week of school was exciting, & crazy at the same time.  Both girls love their teachers, & love the kids in their class. It is going to be a great year!

With the craziness of the summer behind me, I think that I will be able to get on a regular blog schedule again.  No kids pulling me in every which direction while trying to get them scheduled.

Last week was the last week of the old DT at Nuts About Sketches, & this week the new DT started their designs.  It has been a pleasure working with everyone that will no longer be remaining on the team.  I really enjoyed your work each week.  Congrats to the new team!  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.  That is what I love about sketches.  It is one sketch & every one that uses it as inspiration will come up with something different.

With that being said, here is what I created with last weeks sketch, #280:

These pics are from just some random day, January 2009.  We were having lunch & they both starting being super silly & so I got the camera out & started snapping pictures.  Funny things is that I remember it like it was yesterday!

And sketch #281:

My lil Audra!  This was her 4th b-day party at Ozzy's in PA.  It was such a fun party.  Climbing, bouncing, eating pizza & cupcakes.  These pics are when we were singing happy birthday to her (of course).

Thank you for stopping by again today.  I hope that you have enjoyed my creations.  Again, if you want to see anything specific, or want more details on how or why I did what I did, or if you want to know supplies, please let me know.  I would be happy to oblige.

Have a fantastic week!!!

Red Carpet Studios - Anything Goes Challenge

Hello!  Have you survived the Red Carpet Studios blog hop?  That was pretty incredible, wasn't it?  There was so much inspiration, & fun projects.  But the fun isn't over yet.  Be sure to keep checking back on the RCS facebook  page for more fun & games & prizes.
Today a new challenge has been posted at RCS & it is an Anything Goes challenge.  It is based on the movie Anything Else, hence the anything goes challenge.  :)
The sponsor is The Robin's Nest and one lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive a fall paper grouping prize pack! Don't forget, the team will also be choosing their 3 favorite projects be featured in the "Spotlight!"  So be sure to head over to the RCS blog & link up your projects.  I can't wait to see what you have created.

Here is what I have created for this weeks challenge:

Honestly, I think this might be my favorite card that I've made so far!  The image is from one of our sponsor's for the blog hop, Kenny K's Digis & I colored it using my Tombow markers. I just used scraps of paper from a card class that took at Archiver's this week, & I hand cut stars, used pop dots to raise the saying, some of the stars, & the image, then I embellished w/ some twine & gems.   Voila!  I fun card!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that I was able to give you some inspiration.  Any comments, suggestions, ideas on how to make my blog better, I would totally love to hear!  Have a fabulous rest of your labor day!!

Red Carpet Studio ~ Movie Night Blog Hop

Welcome to Red Carpet Studio's One Year Anniversary Celebration!! We're starting the party off right with a blog hop, but don't forget we also have games and prizes going on in our Facebook event group

This weekend our design team is sharing with you inspiring projects for movie nights! Invitations, decorations, and more, you'll leave the hop wanting to have a movie night of your very own.

If you've come from Tonya's blog, you're in the right place! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, please visit Red Carpet Studio.
Congratuations to all the new design team members!  I am so excited to get to work with you & I can't wait to see what you create!  I am sure your work will be nothing less than stellar!!  Congratulations again!!!

Here is what I made for the hop:
I really thought & thought & thought about what I would make for this hop.  It had to be some thing different, & something that I don't normally do.  So, when I was cleaning out a cabinet the other day, I came across an old mason jar & turned it into a ticket holder.
First I added washi tape around the center.  Then I decorated with an entire pack of Paper House 3D stickers, movie themed of course.  I then colored the George Clooney image from one of our wonderful sponsors, Kenny K Digi!

I added mulberry paper to the top, & wet the edges to give a fringed look, then cut a hole in the top for tickets. The girls have a collection of tickets in the house & graciously let me use them for the pictures!  Thanks Emma & Audra!  They want to use this jar for our next movie night!  I can't wait!

This weekend (and our challenges) wouldn't be anything without our fabulous sponsors! Those who comment on every stop of the hop are eligible to win these wonderful prizes:

Disney Classics Cricut Cartridge

12x12 Disney Specialty Paper

"That's Entertainment" Stamp Set

$20 Gift Certificate

Besties of Oz Collection - 7 Digital Stamps

Insta-Live, Love, Dream Stamp Set

And now for the part you've been waiting for... everyone who hops receives a FREE digital goodie bag! Yup, you heard that right! The contents of our goodie bag can be viewed HERE on our Facebook page. Just be sure to leave your email address when you hop and we'll have it emailed to you by the end of the weekend. :)

Red Carpet Studios - We Bought a Zoo

Happy Sunday!  The first day of school eve for our household.  The girls are nervous, yet excited, & all is a-buzz with what they will wear & who they will see.  Summer has officially come to an end.
With that I bring you the latest card challenge from Red Carpet Studios.  This week, August 25th - 31st, the challenge is based on the movie "We Bought a Zoo".  What we would like you to do is create a card with an animal on it.  Easy-peasy right?  Our sponsor this week is Inky Impressions, & one lucky winner will get a $10 Gift Certificate for their store.  Be sure to link up your creation by the 31st to be eligible for the prize, & remember, the creation must be posted to your blog in the same week as the challenge.

Here is my card for this weeks challenge:

I know I've posted before that I am trying to get my Christmas cards done, so a reindeer is an animal right.  I embossed the deer & sentiment to make it stand out more, & I don't know if you can see, but I've added a red gem to the deers noses.  I really like the way this card turned out.  I will be making more of these for sure.
While you are here I wanted to mention that Red Carpet Studios is coming up on its one year anniversary.  With that being said, I want to tell you about our upcoming event!
All weekend long we'll be hosting games, giving away prizes, introducing our new design team members, and kicking off a new spin on our challenges! You won't want to miss it! The best part? Everyone who participates in our blog hop will receive a free GOODIE BAG filled with coupons, digital stamps, SVG files, and more! Keep an eye out for our Facebook event for more details. :)

I totally missed posting the School of Rock challenge several weeks back, but here is the card that I created for it.  I do believe that Audra's teacher will be getting this card in a few days.  ;)

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope that you enjoyed everything here.  There is lots to take in.  RCS will be changing up their format in the months to come, so stay tuned for info on that.
Have a fabulous rest of your weekend & enjoy the peacefulness of back to school!!!

Nuts About Sketches #277, 278, & 279

Happy last weekday before school starts!  Today is Friday & it was the last day of sleeping in, hanging in our PJs until we feel like getting dressed, & doing whatever we feel like when we want.  Monday starts school here in Katy, TX, & that means early rising, & getting back to a daily routine.  It is bitter sweet.  But, with that being said, maybe I can blog better.  Have some time to sit down & schedule them in a timely manner instead of whenever I have a second to myself. :o)  I am certainly not complaining!
Here are the last 3 weeks worth of Nuts About Sketches designs.  And it was also announced that I will be on the DT for another term!  Yay!!!  I love doing her sketches, they are so much fun, plus it guarantees that I will get 4 layouts done a month.  It will be my last term with her, as she has opted to get all new fresh blood on her team starting in March.  Congrats to all who have made the team for this term!!
Sketch #277
The picture came out a little blan, but the colors are much more bright than the picture captured. Tony has joined the YMCA & does the Guides & Princesses camping trips each month with the girls.  Just the dads & kids.  Prior to the first trip, he set up the tent in the backyard & had a camp out as a trial run. The kids loved it, & it was the start of wonderful camping fun!
Sketch #278
Since moving to TX I have reconnected with my 1st cousins.  Tina lives here in TX & her brother, Joseph, lives in Destin, FL.  Last year Joseph & his family invited us for Thanksgiving, & of course we went. My parents drove down from PA to meet us there also.  His wife, Amber, got us a room at a wonderful condo resort, right on the beach.  So, in November, we were playing in the white sand of Destin, FL.  It was wonderful to get to know family better, & see my parents too. Awesome Thanksgiving!!!
Sketch #279

Ahhh!!  Tony & I on our cruise in 2011 for our 10 year anniversary.  It is funny to see these pics, as I have lost weight since then.  It was such a fun time. We need to go on another vacation, just the 2 of us.  Not sure when that will happen!!!  lol.
Thank you for looking today.  I know I've missed several weeks & hopefully will be back on track soon.  Enjoy the final weekend of summer!
