Don't Fall Over!!!

Image
Hello!!!   Please do not fall over, or think that you have misread something.  Yes, it is I!  It has been one year since my last post.  I pulled up my blog today to take a peak & I had, no lie, 20+ blog posts scheduled from the past year.  Schedule from September of last year, through February of this year.  Not one of them got posted!!  Can you believe that?  I am not sure what happened, but I obviously wasn't paying attention, now was I?   A lot has happened over the past year.  The company that Tony was with, that moved us to Texas, he no longer works for.  He was very unhappy in that position, & out of the blue a head hunter contacted him with a bigger better opportunity.  He has been in the new position, Safety Director, with AirGas since November of 2013. He seems to like it, & I now recognize the man who walks in the door each night. :)  My beautiful sister & husband had a baby, so I am an Aunt! Lil Violet was born 2 days before our anniversary (I'

Nuts About Sketches #282

Hello!  A day late, but here is my creation for the new sketch at Nuts About Sketches .          It's all Fancy Pants paper that I had in my stash.  I had cut a large circle & misted it with Glimmer Mist.  All the flowers are fussy cut from the Fancy Pants paper, & embellished with Dew Drops.  I used Thickers for the letters & added a little twine on the brackets.   The pictures are of Emma goofing around on laundry day one day.  She thought it would be funny to sit in her hamper, but once in there, she couldn't get out & was getting really mad.   Thanks for looking today! I am going to Hideaway Hills scrapbooking retreat this coming weekend, so I am gonna get my craft on!  I hope to get a lot done, so stay tuned in the weeks to come see what I've created. Have a great week!!

Well hello there!  Happy Labor Day!  I hope that you are enjoying your mini vacation after the first week of school.  I know our first week of school was exciting, & crazy at the same time.  Both girls love their teachers, & love the kids in their class. It is going to be a great year! With the craziness of the summer behind me, I think that I will be able to get on a regular blog schedule again.  No kids pulling me in every which direction while trying to get them scheduled. Last week was the last week of the old DT at Nuts About Sketches , & this week the new DT started their designs.  It has been a pleasure working with everyone that will no longer be remaining on the team.  I really enjoyed your work each week.  Congrats to the new team!  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.  That is what I love about sketches.  It is one sketch & every one that uses it as inspiration will come up with something different. With that being said, here is what I cr

Red Carpet Studios - We Bought a Zoo

Happy Sunday!  The first day of school eve for our household.  The girls are nervous, yet excited, & all is a-buzz with what they will wear & who they will see.  Summer has officially come to an end.   With that I bring you the latest card challenge from Red Carpet Studios .  This week, August 25th - 31st, the challenge is based on the movie "We Bought a Zoo".  What we would like you to do is create a card with an animal on it.  Easy-peasy right?  Our sponsor this week is Inky Impressions , & one lucky winner will get a $10 Gift Certificate for their store.  Be sure to link up your creation by the 31st to be eligible for the prize, & remember, the creation must be posted to your blog in the same week as the challenge.   Here is my card for this weeks challenge:   I know I've posted before that I am trying to get my Christmas cards done, so a reindeer is an animal right.  I embossed the deer & sentiment to make it stand out more,

Happy last weekday before school starts!  Today is Friday & it was the last day of sleeping in, hanging in our PJs until we feel like getting dressed, & doing whatever we feel like when we want.  Monday starts school here in Katy, TX, & that means early rising, & getting back to a daily routine.  It is bitter sweet.  But, with that being said, maybe I can blog better.  Have some time to sit down & schedule them in a timely manner instead of whenever I have a second to myself. :o)  I am certainly not complaining!   Here are the last 3 weeks worth of Nuts About Sketches designs.  And it was also announced that I will be on the DT for another term!  Yay!!!  I love doing her sketches, they are so much fun, plus it guarantees that I will get 4 layouts done a month.  It will be my last term with her, as she has opted to get all new fresh blood on her team starting in March.  Congrats to all who have made the team for this term!!    Sketch #277     The pi
