The Everyday Scrapper Monday Post

Good Monday morning! Please find below my post from The Everyday Scrapper website. Go on over there & check it out, & leave some love if you should feel so inclined. ;o)

I have mentioned before that I am on a card kick. With it being the end of the school year, it gave me the perfect opportunity to make some for the girls teachers.

I’m not sure if you have seen the owls that are out there. There certainly is a trend & a lot of different ones to chose from. I actually found some in my stash, in my scrap paper to be honest, & came up with these three cards for the girls teachers:

Do you have any layouts or cards where you used owls? if not a lo or card, how about an altered item, or another project? Do you make cards or gifts for your kiddos teachers? If so, please head on over to the The Everyday Scrapper forum & share with us your creations. We would love to see your work!

Thanks for looking today. I hope that you have a wonderful week!

Corset Layout

Yesterday I posted my weekly Funday Monday post on The Everyday Scrapper, & here is what I posted.

I recently hooked, & reeled in, a good friend to the scrapbooking world (you know who you are…). Now granted, she is an avid crafter to begin with. She makes jewelry, paints, makes cards, but she never scrapbooked before. I took her with me to a page design class, & also to a crop, & well, let’s just say that I have created a monster! One of the first pages that she did, she did like a pro! She did a “corset” effect on her layout. I have seen this done before, but never tried it myself. (her page is gorgeous, btw!!). She inspired me to give it a whirl, & I created this layout, for the From Here 2 Scrapternity design team call:

Have you ever done a corset, or similar look, on one of your pages or projects? If so, please share with us in the forum your creations. We love to oohh & aahh over everyone’s work.

Thanks for looking! Have a fabulous week!

Scraptacular News!!!

I told you that I am waaaayyyy behind on my blogging! Well, I am very very very happy to say that I was selected to be on the Design Team for Scraptacular! This is my lss & such a fun place to be! She has crops & fund raisers, & classes, & a wonderful store. If you are not in my area, you can always check her out online at Tell her that I sent you. ;o)

Anyway, my first month on the Design Team was May, & everything in this post is what I created with her May kit:

The below lo was created using a sketch by the new sketch artist for Scraptacular, Liz Chidester. You can find her beautiful sketches at

This lo was created using a sketch by the very talented sketch designer Mia Clarke. You can find it at The Everyday Scrapper in the Sketchy Sunday forum.

Altered Flower Tag

I am so far behind on my blogging!  It always seems this time of year just whizzes on by, & I am left standing back in February!  But, we are in May, school is winding down, Easter is past us, many of the birthdays that we celebrate have been celebrated, & we are coming into the summer months.   So, let’s see if I can keep up w/ my posts moving forward.  To start me back on the right track, here is a post that I did last Monday on The Everyday Scrapper:

For some reason, Mother’s day totally snuck up on me!  We have been so busy, that I kind of forgot.  Ooops.  So, we scrambled on Saturday for a last minute gift.  We went to Lowes for something else, so while there, I got a white pot, & a marigold, which is my mother-in-laws favorite plant.  I didn’t have much time, but wanted to spruce it up a little.  So, I pulled the tag out of the pot & decided that I would alter it!  Quick thinking, right?

I covered it with patterned paper, front & back, & added a cute metal butterfly embellishment.

For my final touch, I added a matching ribbon, & glue dotted it where I wanted it to lay.  The final product looked like this:

I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend, & that you  have a beautiful week!

Thanks for looking!

Mom's Need to Know Giveaway

Something that you may not know about me, besides my love of scraping & crafting, is getting free stuff. Or saving boat loads of money with coupons/rebates/sales, or a combo of all three. My friend Tiffany turned me onto this site called Mom's Need to Know. It is a fabulous money saving site that has everything I love (non-craft related). Free things, money saving ideas, links for coupons, awesome sales, etc. Along with this stuff, she has a few giveaways. One of them is for a bundle of Sun & Earth cleaning products. One lucky winner will be drawn to win a whole lot of cleaning supplies that also help w/ saving the earth. Please go check it out! Who knows, maybe you will be a winner. Even if you don't check out the giveaway, just check out the site for coupons alone! What a fabulous site!!!

A little information about this special day……

National Scrapbook Day was started in 1994 by the well-known album company Creative Memories, and is celebrated on the first Saturday in May. Since 1994 scrapbookers all over the country and world celebrate their passion for Scrapbooking on this day!! There are even online groups petitioning the US Government to make National Scrapbook Day a federal holiday!

Now, you have probably already seen the FABULOUS sketch, created by our own Gloria Stengal. We would like you to use it for your progressive layout or card. Also, please use this quote somewhere on your layout or card:

“Life holds special magic for those who dare to dream….” Author unknown.

And you are probably wondering what my item is to put on your creation. Are you ready??? I would like you to use:

Anyway that you can, add some ribbon onto your layout. And since ribbon is my item to add, I am offering ribbon as a RAK. Now to be eligible for my RAK, please become a follower of my blog (if you are not already), & leave a comment for me in this post. I will randomly choose a winner at the end of the bloghop.

Now, here is Gloria’s sketch:

And here is my creation using all the elements that you will find along the way.

Have fun on our Cropstop Hop! Make sure to link your completed project in the Cropstop Blog by the deadline listed above!

Now hop on over the very talented Lisa’s blog to see what she has in store for you today.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!
