The Crop Stop

I have always been told that when one door closes, another one opens. Well, I am sad to say that this week was my last week on the Design Team for Nuts About Sketches. It was a great run, Shawn has wonderful sketches, that I will continue to use each week, but my time is up. Thank you, Shawn, for the fabulous opportunity to be on the dt. {door closes}

{door opens} I am very happy to tell you that I have been selected to be on the Crop Stop's Design Team! I will be working with them from March through August! I am so excited, & cannot wait to see what they have in store for me! They have a fabulous store, & the talent, whew! it is certainly amazing! I am really looking forward to working with the ladies over there! If you have the chance, head on over & take a look. The forum is just hoppin w/ ideas & creativity! Hope to see you there.
With that being said, here are my last two posts for Nuts About Sketches.
This is sketch #96. It is of My oldest, Emma, this year at her Christmas program for preschool. She did not sing one single word, however, she was up there hamming it up! She was dancing, & posing, & waving, & having a grand ole time. It was quite commical! The pictures came out quite blurry because I didn't have a clear shot of her through all the other parents heads, but it got the point across.

And this is #97. These are pictures that span about a month or so as we were preparing our backyard for the swingset. Our yard isn't the most level, so we had to build the one end up. & the bottom 2 pics on the right are lil Audra sitting in front of it, & Emma getting her first glance of it. We spend a lot of time out there in the summer! Our favorite place to be.

Thanks for looking! Enjoy the rest of your week, if I don't post sooner. ;o)

The Everyday Scrapper Blog Hop

Todays the day that our first ever blog hop starts, for The Everyday Scrapper! We couldn't be more excited a bout it. We are glad that you are taking a little time out of your busy schedules to hop along with us!!!

You will be visiting the Contributors and Sketch team members! We are so excited to have everyone join in on the fun! Of course there will be lots of prizes and RAK's along the way.
The hop officially begins today, Wednesday, Feb. 17 and will end Wednesday, Feb. 24th at midnight EST. Hopefully you will get a lot of inspiration along the hop!

There will be 1 main prize and a few RAK's along the way. You will need to comment on each blog to be eligible for the prizes!

I am the 3rd stop, so if you just happened upon this, please make sure you go back to the beginning and hit all the other blogs.
Here is the list of stops:
1. The Everyday Scrapper
3. Anneliese <<== You are Here

Now onto the good stuff! What I have in store for you today is a few things that you will find over at The Everyday Scrapper. For those of you that know me, know that I adore sketches! So, that is why I love Sundays at TES! A sketch is posted as inspiration each week on the website, & then you are challenged to post your creations in the forum. I used this weeks Sketchy Sunday sketch to create this:

My dear daughter & my future son-in-law, on their first day of preschool this year. The look on her face shows how much she adores him, & his....well....the typical little boy face says it all!

You will also find fantastic altered items & money saving ideas at TES. I know that we are beyond Valentines Day, but I had made these cute little mailboxes for the preschool teacher gifts. Since we have been under snow for the past week, they will receive them today (Feb. 17th) when the kiddos have their party.

And just one more. I wanted to share with you one of my new favorite layouts. It is with Basic Grey paper, & I fussy cut (one of my new fave things to do) the flourish, & used my signature stickles.

My daughter Emma, just being her silly beautiful self. I couldn't resist taking these pics!

To make it fun for visiting my blog, if you become a follower, & leave a comment, your name will be entered to win a RAK from me!

I hope you have enjoyed my blog, I am sure that you will be inspired with what the other Everyday Scrappers have in store for you. So from here, please visit Jewels. And be sure to comment on all the stops along the way then return to the Everyday Scrapper and sign in on the blog hop thread to be entered into the drawing for the Grand Prize.

While at the Everyday Scrapper, be sure to check out the February white space challenge for a chance to win a great prize.

Also, be sure to grab a blinkie while you are there, & add it anywhere possible.

The Everyday Scrapper - Manic Monday

Catherine, at The Everyday Scrapper, has asked me to take over the Monday spot on the website! There are some wonderful contributors that share fabulous ideas from money saving tips, to card making, to sketches, to altered projects, etc. It is just a very talented group of ladies! I am now blessed to have the opportunity to contribute regularly. So, check out the site when you get the chance, not just to see what I post on Mondays, but what everyone has to share, everyday!

Here is my very first Monday post:

Can you believe that we are in February? And Valentine's day is right around the corner. This week my girls are celebrating Valentine's day at preschool, so with the help of Emma, we made the Valentine's for their classes.

First we cut out heart layers with the Cricut, using the Doodlecharms cartridge. (A money saving tip: I used all paper that was in my scrap bin! A great way to use it up, & save money at the same time!).

Once that was done, I inked the white center hearts, & then we adhered them to the base:

After that, Emma had a ball helping me stamp the images (that she chose) onto the hearts. We used a Penny Black stamp set:

Then I colored in the images with colored pencils, doodled around the edges. Then had Emma sign her name on the back. We will attach them to a small treat bag, for her to hand out to her friends in class this week. It was a fun Mommy/daughter project, that was inexpensive. And they are kinda cute too. ;o)

Do you make your own Valentine's? If so, please head over to the forum & let us see what you have done.

Thank you for checking out my project!

Pedal Practice

This week, Shawn had a bonus sketch over at Nuts About Sketches. And here is my lo for the DT. It is of my daughters, on the first nice spring day, after a long winter being indoors, playing outside on their bikes. It is so weird scrapping these pics, because they look so young! they are just growing up so stinkin fast!

Hey! Go take a look at the sneak peaks from CHA on Scraptaculars blog! There are a lot of amazing new products coming out. Promote the give-away somewhere, & leave a comment on her blog for a chance to win a spectacular prize!! Go ....what are you waiting for???

Nuts About Sketches #94

I could not wait to scrap these pics & they have been sitting here since Christmas 2008! Just look at Emma's face! We have a yearly holiday party with my mom's side of the family, a kind of reunion, if you will. And every year we take family photos. I usually try to get the pic that I will put in my Christmas cards at this time. Well, as you can tell, Emma wanted no parts of it. Finally, she stomped over to the chair, crossed her arms, crossed her legs, & gave the meanest face she knew how to give! It made the entire place roar with laughter! Which made her madder. But then she knew the attention was on her, so then she pretended to be mad to get more laughter. What a goof. She is going to be my actress/performer....mark my words.

This lo was created as part of my dt work with Nuts About Sketches. Week 94.
