Baby Cards

Image
Good morning.  I thought I would make a random post today re: the baby cards that I have been making for church.  In one of my Red Carpet Studio posts, I believe that I mentioned that I volunteered to make cards for the babies, sympathy, get well, etc.  Whatever was needed, I said that I either have on hand, or will make.  There has been a flurry of births this past year, & on Sunday (the 1 year anniversary of the church start), they presented each of the babies born in the past year with a cross, & one of my cards.  I had put the church logo on the back, & a scripture inside, & Pastor Gary signed the cards.  You have seen the bear cards that I made for RCS, so here are a few more that I made for some of the other babies:   What is fun about these cards, is that I had bought a daily calendar from Five Below when we were still in PA.  I came across it recently, & what the calendar was to be used for was a scrpbook page a day for a year.  They were made t

Nuts About Sketches #250

Hello there!  How are you?  What is new & exciting in blogland?  If you can believe this, I am still trying to get caught up from the holidays.  My list just never seems to get quite complete.  But in the mean time, I did get to use another Nuts About Sketches sketch.  Fabulous as always. Here is what I came up with: Again, I can't recall the manufacturer of the paper line, (I really need to start writing these things down!).  The base is blue cardstock, then I used multiple strips of patterned paper from a kit I had. I used my circle cutter to cut out multiple circles, & a big half circle w/ the stripes.  I used ribbon, thickers, & basic grey fabric brads to embelli.  The pictures are of Emma at 11 months old.  My sister had bought her her first pair of boots & made her a hat. Of course we put them on her right away.  She didn't quite know what to make of the boots, & the hat made her ears stick straight out.  All the more cuter, right?  ;o) Thank

Nuts About Sketches #249

Hello!  How are you this fine day?  I hope that you are as wonderful as ever.  It is a new week, time to start fresh, & have a splendid week. Today a new sketch was posted at Nuts About Sketches .  As usual, it was so much fun to work with.  Here is what I created with it:   I honestly forget the paper line that I used, but it sure is pretty.  I just love the bright colors.  I was able to cut around one of the flowers in the patterned paper, & slide my picture/mat under it to make it pop a bit.  I found some really cool maroon, soft flowers in my stash, that have this cool stitching on it.  Not quite sure where they came from, but they are cool.  I had gotten the leaf ribbon at CK Convention this year, & it came in handy for this sketch.   The picture is of Tony & Emma, way back in 2006.  This was a regular occurrence for them.  Every night, Tony would come home from work, we would have dinner, then get Emma ready for bed. While he was giving her her bottle, th

Happy Monday.  Don't I say that every Monday?  Well, I hope that you are having a good start to your week.  My weekend was jam packed with undecorating from Christmas, crafting, & spending time with some great friends watching football.  The best kind of weekends, productive & fun!  Shawn has posted a new sketch & Nuts About Sketches today.  It is a double page layout this time, which have become a challenge to me lately.  I'm not sure why, but they are.  But as usual, they are always fun to work with.  Here is what I created with the most recent sketch: I used Basic Grey paper, & fussy cut the circles.  I also used Glossy Accents on my letters to make them pop.  I love that stuff.  What I really like about this sketch is that it allowed you to get a lot of picture on one layout.  It actually called for more, but I didn't have as many as she wanted us to use.  The pictures are of the girls at an Easter Egg hunt in 2011 in PA.  As you can tell, ther

This is my mom & dad with my girls on Easter in 2010.  Don't my parents look so happy!  I hope that Tony & I ar
